Vision with Velocity : The New Leadership Imperative

India is emerging as one of the world’s most dynamic growth engines, buoyed by rising global confidence, expanding trade linkages, and a supportive policy framework that is driving strong momentum for industry and enterprise. Recent Free Trade Agreements and strategic economic partnerships are opening new avenues for exports, investment, and technology collaboration, providing Indian businesses with unprecedented access to global markets. Alongside traditional industries, new growth sectors such as new and clean energy, precision and advanced manufacturing, sports and allied industries, the creative economy, critical minerals, and a rapidly expanding consumption economy are emerging as key drivers of future growth.

At the same time, the global landscape is evolving rapidly. Economic uncertainties, technological advancements, and geopolitical realignments are redefining the rules of competitiveness. Alongside traditional industries, new growth sectors such as new and clean energy, precision and advanced manufacturing, sports and allied industries, the creative economy, critical minerals, and a rapidly expanding consumption economy are emerging as key drivers of future growth.

These sectors are opening fresh opportunities while also bringing new complexities related to technology adoption, sustainability, regulation, and market access. In this environment, success requires more than vision—it demands agility, decisiveness, and the ability to translate strategy into action at pace.

Leaders must anticipate and adapt to change, embrace innovation, and steer their organisations with clarity and speed, balancing ambition with resilience and responsibility. Recognising the importance of this new leadership imperative, CII Eastern Region is organising the Annual Regional Meeting and Conference on Vision with Velocity: The New Leadership Imperative on 24 March at The Taj Bengal, Kolkata.

The meeting will bring together senior industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate on the theme “Vision with Velocity: The New Leadership Imperative”.
